Product Manager Digital Health Studies

Berlin/Potsdam
Full-time
Permanent employee

Hi there!

Our goal at Data4Life is to make the world a healthier place. Our Product and Project Management team makes sure we move toward that goal with focus, rigor and speed - translating research ambition into products that generate real impact in healthcare, in Germany and beyond.

D4L Collect is our sensor data collection platform for digital health studies - one solution where researchers can simultaneously capture patient-reported and multimodal sensor data, from laboratory-grade devices to consumer wearables, and bring it all together as a unified, interoperable, GDPR-compliant dataset in FHIR. With a no-code study builder, paperless consent management, and a participant mobile app (Android and Apple), D4L Collect lets research teams set up and run their studies end-to-end while keeping full control of their data.
We're now investing in D4L Collect's next chapter - deepening it for clinical research (RWD studies, cohort studies, patient registries, RCTs), enriching it with validated patient-reported outcome instruments, clinician data entry, electronic data capture, richer EHR interoperability, and stronger regulatory rigor.
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us grow the team and support that journey. You'll partner with the Lead Product Manager and Senior Project Manager and work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering, product design, QA, BizDev, Comms, Scientific Team, and regulatory to make D4L Collect the platform of choice for digital health and real-world studies. The position is full-time, based in Berlin / Potsdam, with a permanent contract.

Your future role

  • Drive the next evolution of D4L Collect. Shape the roadmap for the platform's next chapter - a Patient Registry solution, electronic data capture platform, and a validated ePRO library.

  • Ship a regulatory-grade product, considering e.g. 21 CFR Part 11 audit trails and eConsent with e-signatures. Treat compliance as a design constraint to engineer around, not a tax.

  • Extend D4L Collect’s capture and connect functionality. Build on the platform's sensor, wearable, and patient-reported outcomes foundation by adding first-class support for new sensors (such as wearable devices, insulin pumps, and portable x-ray devices), by integrating EHR data via HL7 FHIR (including the International Patient Summary), and by extending the standard questionnaire library, including SDoH. Keep every data type research-ready and interoperable.

  • Make clinical trial standards possible through import (from REDCap and other commercial EDC/CTMS solutions) and export (to CDISC SDTM) into capabilities investigators, sponsors, and study sites can effectively use. Implement validation and certification of D4L Collect including ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and SOC 2 Type II

  • Be the user's advocate inside the team. Build and maintain deep relationships with the people who actually use D4L Collect - sites, investigators, study coordinators, clinicians, and most importantly patients and participants - making sure that those voices are heard in prioritization conversations.

What you need to succeed

  • 3+ years building a strong product craft foundation - discovery, roadmap, prioritization, and PRDs - in an agile environment.

  • 3+ years of progressive product management experience in B2B solutions or regulated digital health solutions, with 1+ years directly defining and shipping clinical research software - at least one of EDC, ePRO / eCOA, eConsent, patient registry, or sensor-based study platforms.

  • Hands-on experience shipping under GCP / ICH E6(R3), 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11, including computer system validation and audit-ready release management.

  • Working fluency in clinical data standards, especially CDISC (SDTM, CDASH) at a conceptual level, and a working understanding of HIPAA + GDPR as they apply to clinical trials and real-world data.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, (Bio)medical Engineering, Health Informatics, Life Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Languages: You're fluent in English. German at B2 level and/or a third language is a plus.

Why you will love working with us

  • Nonprofit work with a clear purpose - Make the world a healthier place. At Data4Life, you'll find a meaningful role in a nonprofit environment with tangible impact on research and work on socially impactful projects in the healthcare sector, with renowned partners.

  • A diverse, international team of professionals working together across Potsdam, Berlin, and Singapore, and collaborating closely with partners with leading partners from research, technology, and healthcare such as at HPI·MS in New York and beyond.

  • Real work-life balance - flexible working hours, 30 days of paid vacation, and the option for mobile work.

  • Support for private healthcare and sustainable mobility.

  • Employee-driven initiatives, including our climate and DEI (diversity, equity & inclusion) groups.
